Summer & Informal Education Programs Overview
Looking for a meaningful education opportunities for your summer program or community group?
The Mill Creek Alliance (MCA) offers specialized programs during the summer that engage youth and adults in educational opportunities in nature. Groups interested in learning more about their watershed can engage in some of our summer exploration opportunities. We provide onsite activities and field trip opportunities to Mill Creek.
Past participants and activities have included:
Summer Watershed summer camp program enrichment with Working in Neighborhoods, Eco art with Roberts Academy, What is a Watershed? with Woodlawn Community Rec. Center., Creative Writing and Eco-Journalism with CAINS, Service Learning with Cincinnati Zoo Academy and Cincinnati State Community College, the University of Cincinnati, as well as Xavier University, Walnut Hills HS, DePaul Cristo Rey HS, and fishing programs with schools such as Clark Montessori, Gamble Montessori, The Promise Center, and Hughes STEM HS.
Mahketewah Anglers Summer Fishing Program
Mill Creek Alliance is seeking youth (ages 13-18) who want to learn the basics of fishing this summer. Enjoy this unique opportunity to explore the Mill Creek watershed and learn a new skill. The program is FREE! We provide fishing gear and tackle as well as transportation from 1223 Jefferson Ave. Join us for weekly adventures.
Thursdays from 9am-2pm Starting in July.
