Canoes & Conversation

Morning CANOE PADDLE
9:30-10:30 (arrive by 8:15)

Join us for a gentle 1-mile canoe voyage from Salway Park and see the city from a new perspective.

We'll shuttle you upstream, then members of the Mill Creek Yacht Club will help you into a boat, guide you down the creek, and help you out at the Yellow Bridge in South Cumminsville. We'll provide boats, paddles, and PFD's. All you need is some old sneakers (no sandals, please) and a sense of adventure.

You will receive special instructions before the event date on what to wear and more. Morning canoe paddlers will also be asked to arrive EARLY to assure that we can get waivers signed and a safety talk completed with the group before we set sail.

Afternoon CANOE PADDLE
12:30 pm - 4:30 pm (arrive by noon)

Want to see more of the Mill Creek? Paddle on downstream with us after lunch to check out a great birdwatching spot you can only reach by boat, then see the Mill Creek Barrier Dam and peek out at the Ohio River.

This trip is about four times longer than the morning paddle, involves getting out of your boat and navigating uneven/submerged surfaces, and ends with steep walk uphill.  All in all, it is a much more rigorous adventure than the morning activity.

We'll provide boats, paddles, and PFD's. All you need is some old sneakers (no sandals, please) and a sense of adventure.

You will receive special instructions before the event date on what to wear and more.
