Pop-Up Canoe Livery
Rent a Canoe and Explore the Resurgent Mill Creek from Evendale to Reading
Ever explored an urban waterway? The Mill Creek runs right through the heart of Cincinnati and is packed with nature – beavers, herons, many species of fish and invertebrates – but also bears the scars from human development and degradation. Come see the tug of war between humans and nature playing out before your eyes. (Hint: Nature is very resilient, and Mother Nature always bats last.)
This trip route is 1.7 miles downstream from Cunningham Drive in Evendale to Haffey Field in Reading. Feel free to extend your trip by stopping to play or explore along the way. A van shuttle will be available for vaccinated/masked participants. Paddlers could also stage bikes at the take-out and ride back (on sidewalks) to the put-in (2.5 miles)
Contact MCA at info@themillcreekalliance.org or 513.563.8800 for information.
Note: Streams contain natural and human-caused pathogens. The water quality in the Mill Creek is designated for secondary contact (boating) and is on a par with the Little Miami River and other recreational waterways in the region, but that’s not to say that it is risk free. There are other risks inherent to canoeing. Please read and consider the cautions and disclosures on the sign-up web site.
