MCYC Urban Stream Adventure

REGISTER NOW

Fall urban stream adventures include a trip from Northside qr Millvale to the Ohio River. MCYC veterans will support paddlers to put-in/take off from either Salway Park in Northside or from the Mill Creek Road bridge at 3320 Millcreek Road, Cincinnati, 45223

Paddling ends at the Mill Creek Barrier Dam, south of Eighth Street Viaduct, 45204. The Barrier Dam is where paddlers will meet in the morning to be shuttled back to the start/put-in. This float travels about about 3¾ miles and takes roughly 3¼ hours.

Challenges:

  • jagged and sharp objects in stream substrate

  • low-head dams and rocky riffles

  • slow currents and shallow waters in dry spells

  • strainers – branches and fallen trees amid the stream current

Opportunities include beautiful fall colors on the trees, encounters with local plants and animal species, first handle experience under many historic bridges, and so much more.

REGISTRATION is now open!
